forgot to put our holiday card up on the blog this year!
happy 2010, everyone!

did some fun stuff in december, made an extensive german dinner for the parents, rendered some tasty pork fat from the schweinshaxe after poaching. made a chocolate mousse + ganache cake for the inlaws and some t-shirts for the sushi guys down the street. the mailbox was flooded with holiday cards a la babies. a few dared to send pictures of their cats.

went to see up in the air with thien. read the Road in a sitting and then went to see the movie. both were good. Fantastic Mr. Fox i went to see earlier, would see that one again. got hooked on reading vagabond by Takehiko Inoue and when i ran out of chapters i started up One Piece. Eiichiro Oda is a mad creative genius. his characters have me giggling at every turn of the page. started playing the Zelda Spirit Tracks but had to stop because of work and deadlines.

saw some family and saw some friends. spent one day eating every 1.5 hours in san francisco. by 9pm i was clearly defeated.

have about a week to finish a new BAB project (another children's comic reader!) and a few more weeks than that to finish the mr. elephanter cover for Candlewick. all other artwork is done and delivered, yay! did a lot of thinking for SFTW and think i'm just going to have to simplify. what i want to do is too big for a first GN project. if it was an art installation i'd say sure, make it giant, but it's got to fit in a book format, right? um... i don't want to be practical.
