i have animal paintings for sale and show at the STUDIO gallery in san francisco from July 18th to August 12th. this is a group show consistent of many small works, all under $400.
also, san diego comic-con is just a few days away. here are some painting, very nearly dry.

there are different styles - some are more realistic, some are more cartoony. some have bright rainbowy colors, some have more of an interior decorator's palette. i am wishing to have done a lot of things differently, but it is too late to make changes now. just remember self-notes for the next time around.

i'm beat!
here i am at 3am.
me take breakthis is a quick and dirty preview of the paintings i'll have for comic-con in a week. linework starts tomorrow. final coats go on next monday. if you see something you want, holler now. otherwise, i'll see you at comic-con, booth P1 in the small press section. i believe it will be kitty corner from the DC comics booth.
posting on this blog has really helped bring an objective eye to these projects. i can gauge better when something lacks depth, if the colors are vibrating too much, etc. etc. it's something that i can't get by just walking to the other end of the room and staring at the pieces.
'practical, yet alluring!'don't you know it, homer j!
okay, so you got me. i'm not really a cat. weird stuff happens in the middle of the night while engulfed in oil paint fumes. truthfully, i look like this. you know which one. if you go to the simpson's movie website, you too can create your own springfield avatar. i think the people who developed the Mii platform for the Wii should actually get the credit for this ingenious idea. thank you, jane, for depicting the family members with such uncanny accuracy.

updates, announcements
i'll have another group of paintings ready for comic-con this year. at least i hope so! it's going to be a real race to the finish this time. am also trying to get a few proposals together but it's been incredibly difficult. i find the process counter-intuitive and it messes with me. i can only try my best to make it happen.

what i will have ready for sure is another batch of sketchbooks that were first released at APE this year. i wasn't satisfied with the cover (it was lame), so i'm going to do a 4 color silkscreen version. for all you who got one at APE, sorry. this one will have a cooler cover. the interior pages are still the same though.***
these books are in the stores, on shelves now!
Flight 4, published by Random Housesome of my favorite comic artists contributed to this book, including Scott Campbell and Graham Annable of Hickee fame. a big nod to sarah messinga for her brave and heartfelt story. for those who appreciate animation and digital art, but who have never read comics before, Flight is a good liason into the world of comics.

i heart zelda
nintendo games are the best. friends just loaned wario ware, and it is crazy! i am too lazy to take pictures of the challenges they have but here are still s from the other game i am playing : Zelda and the Ocarina of Time. that's right, playing the ocarina via the wii via the controller from my game cube. if this isn't the way to put off work, i don't what is.
do you recognize it? yeah, you do. you know you do!
ah, here i am as little link, ready to take the big step into adulthood.
here is a slow camera turn to help dramatize this event. btw, i am totally proud of the bunny hat, though i do not know what the hell it is for in this quest. somebody comment on this post and tell me.
okay, here i go.

okay, now here i really go. i mean, really. this time, for reals.

YAAAAHHHH!

yay, i'm doing it! i'm doing it!
the reward for all this nonsense is that i get to grow up into big ugly link (nose and ears become extra pointy). the real bummer is that in getting the big sword i lose the bunny hat. that really sucks!
