SHOW! - 17th and Shotwell




i have some artwork in the ODC box office lobby showing this month and next. a solo show! works are mostly from the Nature and Ikebana series, and some are creepy. the happiest thing there is probably squidman.

Description
ODC Theater is proud to present Lark Pien at the ODC Theater Performance Gallery, her work will be on display August 14 - September 10, 2006. Lark Pien began drawing comics in 1997, and painting in 2000. She has contributed to several comic anthologies including Blood Orange, 9-11 Artists Respond, and Broad Appeal. In her mini-comic tome's, she presents haunting stories of relationships that start off sweetly and transition toward slightly out of kilter. Lark has previously worked with ODC Theater as a part of ODC's present of "the Adventures of Cunning and Guile" at the Cartoon Art Museum. She created new work specifically for the cartoon inspired duets choreographed by Chris Black and Ken James for the Cartoon Art Museum. Her handprinted mini-comics Long Tail Kitty and Stories from the Ward are available in small boutiques and also online through hobocomics.com.

can't be working on art all the time.

went to berkeley bowl the other day and got all crazy over the produce selection. knocks me out every time, feels like a good kiss. zoom zoom zoom!


so here is my summertime slam for two:

double cut lamb chops and garlic, pan-fried and baked in an herbalgarden rub,
on a bed of seared abalone mushrooms

heirloom tomatoes, raddichio, and sweet red fingerling potatoes

warm radicchio salad tossed with sauteed calamari, lemon zest and italian parsley

poached artichoke hearts and eggs with deviled tapenade





but... what to do with the leftovers?
